This guide highlights critical issues that are known to us in the SoundID Reference 5.7, if you encounter one of them, try the suggested solutions before a hotfix release.

With the release of the SoundID Reference version 5.7, we have received several critical issues reports from our users, who have been affected by one of the issues listed below.
Our development team is looking into the cause of the problems, and a fix update will be released as soon as possible.
5.7.2 update main issues
- SoundID Reference systemwide freezes on macOS - localized issue: only users based in China are affected. A fix for this is in progress, but for now, the only solution is reverting back to the 5.6.1 version (see below).
- SoundID Reference AAX plugin is not validated in Pro Tools - not recognized as 64-bit. Small group of users affected. A fix for this is in progress, but for now, the only solution is reverting back to the 5.6.1 version (see below).
5.7.3 update main issues [MAC]
- Missing driver after updating to 5.7.3 [MAC] - solutions and workarounds are available (learn more in the article), and a permanent fix is in development. If a workaround cannot be established as described in the article, revert back to the 5.7.2 version (see below).
- High CPU with the SoundID Reference standalone app [MAC] - only macOS 10.14 Mojave users are affected. The issue is under investigation, for now, the only solution is to revert back to the 5.7.2 version (see below).
- SoundID Reference app crashes if a UAD device is connected - only Universal Audio / UAD device users are affected. The issue is under investigation, for now, the only solution is to revert back to the 5.7.2 version (see below).
Reverting back to the 5.6.1 version

- Uninstall the current version as shown here:

Reverting back to the 5.7.2 version [MAC]
- Back up your speaker profiles: Where can I find my speaker profile?
- Delete the HAL driver file from this location:
Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL/SoundID Reference.driver
- Uninstall the current version as shown here: How to uninstall SoundID Reference? [MAC]
- Launch the regular online installer (download here) and click on Customize
- Click on the dropdown menu and select version 5.7.2.7 (marked as "Beta")

By installing version 5.6, the issue of not being able to start was successfully resolved.
