Core driver missing, Gray screen. Protools crashes, Final cut Crashes, Safari glitches.

I have tried all your suggestions with no luck.

Running 2018 Mac mini I7 6 core. Running Catalina.

Hi jmosrite - sorry to hear about this! It is worth checking out our support guide on this error which includes some things to try, see it  here: "CoreAudio driver went missing" error [MAC]

If you are also on macOS Catalina, there is a known issue mentioned in the comment above which could be contributing as well, see our guide for more details here: CoreAudio and SonarworksASPProxy high CPU [MAC]

We have released a new beta version 5.9.1.2 last week with macOS driver fixes, I can recommend giving the beta a try too. For beta install instructions, please follow these steps: Solution available with 5.9.1.2 Beta

I have also opened up a support request on your behalf, so we can check on the issue closer.

Hi,

We wanted to provide an update on the high CPU issue some users are encountering on macOS 10.14 and 10.15 versions.

With the release of a new SoundID Reference update (v5.10.0) on March 26, 2024, SoundID Reference will no longer support macOS 10.14 and 10.15. If you have encountered the high CPU issue on your device, please visit our support guide for more information on OS version support drop and issue workaround options here: [MAC] CoreAudio and SonarworksASPProxy high CPU (on macOS 10.14 & 10.15)
