My Mac Version is Sonoma 14.2.1
I tried installing the SoundID Reference Beta release in case that fixed in with no dice
Audio plays fine when I quit SoundID Reference

Could you please check whether SoundID Reference is turned up in Sound settings and Audio MIDI Setup (not muted by accident)? If you can, please attach some screenshots as well.
If the problem still persists, does Restart Playback Engine in the SoundID Reference app fix the issue (Presets > “…” (menu) > Device Settings)? Does fully quitting the app and then relaunching make any difference? What is the audio device/interface you are using?
In addition, I can recommend taking a look at our support guide for additional tips in cases where there is no sound or no calibration observed: No sound / no calibration effect [MAC]

It turns out SoundID was in fact muted in the sound settings. Not sure how that happened but I did update my mac mini recently
