SoundID stopped working properly, loses license, takes ages to start

Hi,

I used to use SoundID as a set it and forget it type of thing, but those days are over for now. 

Apart from other types of problems, which are in another thread, since yesterday I started having a permanent problem with starting SoundID (only a greyed out, unresponsive icon in the taskbar), and then when it finally starts, after a few minutes I get a login screen, or "create a new account" instead of the application interface.

After logging in, I see the activation board, after clicking activation, the "retry" loop begins. I finally end up deactivating and reactivating this machine on my account. Then the application interface appears without displaying correction curves, even though presets are loaded.

After some time, correction curves appear and everything works. While using the computer, suddenly everything starts again, SoundID plug-in displays "no active license detected" window.

The above issues are independent of the computer's Power Plan.

Hi kubamajer, thanks for your post, sorry to hear you are encountering an issue!

I see you had submitted a ticket regarding this issue last week and it seemed that changing the power plan on your machine helped for a while.

Can you let us know whether you are ever not using the software offline (not connected to a network), or if you're using a VPN by any chance? Perhaps there have been some network or firewall settings changed recently? Has anything else been updated or changed on your machine or OS?

There should be no changes or updates that I know of in the OS or the network.
Today, to my surprise, everything works so far - after turning on SoundID, I only had to log in once and for several hours without any problems. Both systemwide and plugin. I don't understand what this could be about (I rebooted many times yesterday).

There were also problems yesterday with my IMAP mailbox with one of the providers. The other IMAP mailboxes worked fine. Internet worked fine also. I did not manipulate the network devices on my side, because this is also "set it and forget it".

It's all a bit weird. I was a little pissed yesterday :D because I had to completely remove SoundID from the listening path to be able to work.

Same situation today - started several minutes, then worked about 2 hours then boom - login screen. 

Can not work again. Why does everything else work fine but SoundID doesn't?

I didn't do anything. It started working normally. I didn't change anything on the computer. In my opinion, this is due to the way your authorization system works.

[EDIT] Ok, I was in a hurry to answer. After two days of normal operation, today the same problem occurs again.
This is something incredibly crappy.

This might be a partial clue.
Today, before enabling SoundID, I used Roon on my computer which played music via RME. 
Before starting SoundID, I closed the Roon software. SoundID took a long time to start (8~10 minutes), then asked to add output even though it "saw" the presets and output.

I noticed that RME still had the sampling rate set by Roon to 176.4KHz. I changed it to 48KHz and then SoundID "connected" to RME. It seems that SoundID has a problem with the sample rate, which does not change the fact that today it also has a problem with starting.
Previously, I don't remember this type of problems occurring in connection with Roon. I have been using it for several years.

And currently I have this again: 
I will perform the license deletion and reactivation procedure again, just to be sure. However, I have already done this several times.

Hi kubamajer, thanks for this additional information, sorry to hear the issue persists. I see my colleague is looking into this with you. Is the issue reproducible only in the Roon scenario you've described, or have you noticed other patterns now? Thanks!

After a LONG tedious setup - this is a studio and it was not good to have three hours go to this! - the plugins are finally there, but the main program application does not launch. Not at all sure what is going on.  The extensive set-up trouble shooting notes belie the larger issues.  The software is good when it works, but it is not at the same level as other applications in our experience. We have very few issues with other software we use, and therefore, consider this a kind of outlier in that sense.

Hi Robert Thompson, sorry to hear you have encountered some trouble. I see you have created a support ticket as well and my colleague will help troubleshoot the issue.

And today again - a few minutes after starting, the interface appears and asks for log in. Works a few minutes and all starts again.

I am also encountering the same problem can you help me solve this, it has been a menace when we have to login after every 30 minutes or so.

Are you using a VPN or have any other firewall/network/router settings set up? It is likely that something causing an issue with the connection to our servers is the culprit and thus you are being logged out often. I will open up a support request on your behalf, so we can gather some additional information on your case.
