Sound id Reference on 7.1.4 Pro Tools Bus

Hi All

I'm trying to insert Sound Id on a 7.1.4 Pro Tools master bus but Sonarworks does not appear on the 7.1.4 plugins list ,only as 7.1.2 plugin.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

Hi sondy65, thanks for reaching out!

This is indeed a known issue and our developers are working on resolving it. We hope to have this resolved within the next updates of SoundID Reference.

In the meantime as a workaround, you can set up 3rd-order ambisonics, see our guide here: Setting up on Pro Tools Ultimate with native Dolby Atmos Renderer

I see you have also submitted a support request regarding this issue, we'll make sure to link your ticket to the development task and notify you when a fix has been released.

I just submit the same issue in using Pro Tools Ultimate 2023.12 with the Dolby Renderer included.. i'm very disappointed that I can't use this software, as you stated in your post,

i've tried the workaround to set up 3rd-order ambisonic but it's not very clear about what's the pro tools playback engine, if I put it in HD Native then it doesn't give me the objects, and if I set it to the Dolby Audio Bridge then what is the the Playback engine?  and on top of that I need to buy the Dolby Renderer which I don't want to spend more money..not clear to me...expensive software and for now useless...

I'm a longtime user of the stereo version since v3.
I bought the multichannel version today and I also struggle with the DAW-Renderer-Integration

Hi, Same things here. I cannot use the 7.1.4 correction. It works in Logic Pro but not in Pro Tools.

Same thing here, and it's extremely annoying. You said on December 15 that you were going to correct this. Here we are on January 20, 2024 and nothing has been done. Your bypass solution, moreover, is not well documented, as mentioned above. Meanwhile, we have projects to move forward. Major impact.

Same . Now we have the internal renderer , the Sonarworks AAX plugin is back in my work flow for room correction (I used the ext renderer before ) . But there's no 7.1.4 version of the plugin. Come on Sonarworks !!!!!

Hi All

A workaround i tried is to use an other Daw like Nuendo that can host Sonarworks  as a monitor controler ,and to send audio from Pro Tools via dante virtual sound card.

It realy works!

Hi all, thanks for your comments here, sorry for encountering an issue with the SoundID Reference plugin.

It is a known issue on our end regarding the SoundID Reference AAX plugin not being available on 7.1.4 master track in Pro Tools. I will open up support requests on your behalf, so we can link your cases to the development report as well. At the moment, we don't have an ETA on the fix yet, but I hope we can provide a solution for this very soon.

The update doesn't fix it! Ha la la...

It seems that our friends in Sonarworks have some difficulty addressing this issue and still this promised latest update doesn't fix the problem and forced us to look for alternate solutions.

This is what it can be done in Pro Tools using the Internal Dolby Renderer, it takes some time but it can solve the issue for now

  • First you have to have your Sonarworks measurements
  • Export them to text for the Dolby Atmos Renderer, then using the results input them like this
  • In Pro Tools create a Master Track 7.1.4, Assign it to the Renderer Out
  • In the Master track add a Multi-mono instance of Time Adjuster, Unlink the plugin Master Link
  • Select one by one the output channels (L,R,C etc….) and put the delay times
  • On the same Master track open a Multi-mono  instance of your favorite EQ plugin I’m using FFQ3, Unlink the plugin Master Link
  • Select one by one the output channels (L,R,C etc….) And grab a cup of coffee (or two) create one by one the EQ readings from the measurements text. Make sure you save each one of these user presets so you can use them as needed.

And hopefully it will work instead of going to the poorly explained Ambisonic workaround..

Let me know if that works for you guys…

It's a shame that Sonarworks have taken their eye off the ball a little , as the introduction of the internal renderer, update I/O and expanded bus widths in Protools means SoundID now has more worth to us when mixing is the box. For me i will carry on mixing with the external renderer until they update the AAX plugin. Hey Sonarworks!  . take a look at what Avid has done ! Your Plugin could be the monitoring centre of Protools !

spoons !!!

Yes, the bigger setups 9.2.4. 9.1.6 use the external renderer anyway and i guess they don't need Sonarworks. But for us, using zhe internal rendere (Logic or Protools) in smaller facilities, Sonarworks could be a gamechanger and really helpful.

I'm also waiting for Antelope to have a decent EQ section. Right now users only have a limited 6 band EQ.

Hi everyone, thanks for standing by while we're working on the issue!

Just to clarify, the fix for this didn't make it to yesterday's update, but it is in development and we are expecting a fix update for it soon. The 5.9.1.3 update was focused on the fix for the missing driver issue on macOS: SoundID Reference missing from Mac sound output - issue fixed [MAC]

Hi, I'm coming back to Pro Tools after two years of Nuendo because of the internal Renderer in Nuendo. I'm not familiar with the Dolby renderer. My understanding is that ID Reference is either usable in the Dolby renderer, or useless. Can anyone explain? Thanks in advance.
