WTF INDEED!!!

It's the SECOND TIME an update makes SoundId simply disappear from my output options. The only way around is to fully uninstall and revert to a previous version (without virtual monitoring). I had my credit card ready at hand to purchase the new add-on... but nope! It just crashed... Again! Again??

Worst still, I had no option but to update the app -- which I wouldn't have done, btw... and there I am with a broken system and a broken face right in front of my client. OH that's awesome now!

WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU GUYS??? IS THIS GOING TO HAPPEN IN EVERY UPDATE??? FIX THIS BEFORE DEPLOYING!

Hi Ivan Vernillo, sorry to hear about this!
To confirm, is the app showing up as reset - with no output presets present? Or. is the issue with the actual speaker profiles missing from your machine? To check whether the profiles themselves are present/misssing, please go to Macintosh HD/Users/your_username/Library/Application Support/Sonarworks/SoundID Reference/ Sonarworks Projects folder (note that this is under the hidden Library, to view it, see our guide here: How to show hidden files on Mac and Windows?).

Edo Portugal - sorry to hear about this as well! Our developer team is still investigating the missing driver issue on macOS which appeared with the 5.7.3 update, thus it may still be encountered with the 5.9.0 update as well. For a quick workaround if this issue is present, please try Restarting playback engine
Update: missing driver issue is resolved since the 5.9.1 update of SoundID Reference.

Edo Portugal the driver issue has been fixed with the latest 5.9.1.2 Beta update. Please let us know if there are any further issues after updating to the new Beta: SoundID Reference Beta software releases

Hi all,

I wanted to chime in here and let you know that we have released a new SoundID Reference update (v5.9.1.3) today, Jan 24, 2024, which includes a fix for the SoundID Reference missing from sound output settings on macOS issue. With this update, the SoundID Reference audio device should be available in Mac Sound settings and Audio MIDI when the SoundID Reference app is running. For those encountering this issue with the previous versions, we recommend updating to the latest version.

To install this update, download the SoundID Reference installer from our download center here and proceed with the installation.

If there is an issue remaining after installing the update, please check the steps mentioned here: [MAC] No sound / no calibration effect

Thank you for your patience while we were working on resolving this issue. Let us know how it is working for you!

Every time I update on Mac all of my presets disappear! You are the only company I've dealt with in the last 10 years where this kind of thing happens.

How do you not check the software. Imagine updating Pro Tools and all of your plugins/settings disappear every time.

I have a backup and have manually moved the Custom Target Presets into the same folder on the new machine. Makes no difference.

Hi dave, sorry to hear about this!

Presets disappearing definitely should not be happening after every update and we are aware of some users still encountering the missing profile issue which we are looking further into (for more details, see here: Missing speaker profiles: "File not found" [MAC]). I've opened up a support request on your behalf, so we can gather some additional details on your case as well.
