Why did this issue exist since 5.7 was out until now is still not fixed in 5.8 and as someone who loves to try new features is really awful and disappointed to see my app never function properly.

We are aware of some issues on macOS that appeared with the 5.7.0 update for China-based users specifically, it is documented here: SoundID Reference standalone app freezes [MAC]
Unfortunately, these issues have not yet been tackled in the 5.8.0 update, but we hope to have a fix available as soon as possible.
