SoundID bugs & issues

Hi, Im having two issues...

1. SoundID systemwide is receiving audio (from spotify, system, etc.) but is not sending that audio to the selected outputs. I have tested those internally on SoundID and can hear the test tone when I select them. But nothing comes out.

2. When I have Systemwide running in the background, AND the plugin instantiated on my output chain in Cubase 12 Pro, the internal plugin is working as it should, and systemwide (as it should) is not applying a profile to the audio but is causing a huge level drop, as if the safe headroom feature is still applying a -8dB drop or so. When I quit systemwide this issue is resolved.

I would much prefer if systemwide and the plugin talked to each other correctly, and that systemwide would simply work.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I am running SoundID 5.8.0 on Mac OS Ventura 13.5.2 (22G91) and my DAW is Cubase 12.0.70 Build 464

Thank you!

Hi joseph.faris, thanks for your post, sorry to hear there are some issues present!

Regarding the issues you've noted:

  1. It is possible that there is something affecting the signal from reaching SoundID Reference or being audible, tips on what to check can be found here: No sound / no calibration effect [MAC]. I would especially advise checking whether SoundID Reference is not muted in Sound settings/Audio MIDI setup.
  2. I understand that the DAW does not have SoundID Reference set as the output device, and you're only using the plugin in DAW, correct?

Thanks!
