My whole issue since the release of 5.7.3 is:
I get SoundID as a system output, BUT, It never works. If soundid app is on/open, no sound. If I quit the app, regular system sound. Uninstall/reinstall does nothing. Versions 5.8 or previous 5.7.2 have same behavior
Thoughts?

It is possible that there is something affecting the signal from reaching SoundID Reference or being audible, tips on what to check can be found here: No sound / no calibration effect [MAC]. I would especially advise checking whether SoundID Reference is not muted in Sound settings/Audio MIDI setup. I see you have a support ticket open already and we'll continue assisting you within it as well. Checking out the guide I linked can be worth it as well.

also, I can hit the speaker test button and I get the 'left - right' coming through my speakers, just nothing from system

this..... wow, I feel like a complete noob! my system volume was muted in system sound prefs, didn't even know that was possible.
