We hope you're doing well and are ready for a new exciting feature in SoundID Reference!
With the SoundID Reference 5.8.0. version release (Oct 10, 2023), we are happy to introduce the Virtual Monitoring Add-On. Virtual Monitoring delivers accurate spatial simulation of stereo studio speakers on your headphones, allowing you to take your headphone mixing to the next level. This is a paid feature add-on, a base SoundID Reference license is required. This feature works only with headphone calibration profiles.
Here's a quick overview of the Virtual Monitoring benefits:
- Hear realistic simulations of high quality near, mid and far field speakers calibrated to the reliable flat SoundID SR reference sound.
- Monitor your mix reliably on virtually simulated speakers inside your headphones.
- Works with over 500 supported headphones in our database that you can trust.
- Works with individual headphone calibration profiles for highest accuracy.
- Includes 10 new spatial simulations of consumer devices (cars, laptops, TVs, and a smartphone).
- Available in the SoundID Reference standalone app as well as the DAW plugin - enjoy the sound you can trust across all the content played on your machine.

How can I trial Virtual Monitoring Add-on?

How can I purchase Virtual Monitoring Add-on?
You can purchase the Virtual Monitoring Add-on separately if you already own a SoundID Reference license, or take advantage of upgrade bundles if you own a SoundID Reference or Reference 3 or 4 license and want to upgrade to a higher tier SoundID Reference with the Virtual Monitoring Add-on.

Note that a SoundID Reference base license is required in order to enable the Virtual Monitoring Add-on.

The new add-on doesn't show up in the AAX plug in. Is it a bug?

Yes, Virtual Monitoring is available across all plugin types (VST, VST3, AU, AAX). Make sure you have selected a headphone profile preset in the preset sidebar as Virtual Monitoring applies only to headphone profiles.
If the issue persists, could you please attach a screenshot of the License information in the plugin? Launch the plugin -> click on the three-dot icon on the right side -> select "License information" and take a screenshot of the plugin window.
