Please Fix Sound ID Version 5.7.3.17

Completed

Please upload a new update to fix the obvious operational bugs in 5.7.3.17.  Us MAC users are experiencing SoundID not being recognized by our OS to operate systemwide.  I am also experiencing the AAX plugin in ProTools defaulting to the "safe headroom" master volume setting even though it shows that the safe headroom setting is not engaged.  I have to slightly turn the SoundID output volume down and back up to 0dB to get the volume back to where it was set originally.  This happens every time I open Pro Tools with SoundID on my master fader.  Also, the simulated graph is different on the AAX plugin than the standalone.  I don't even know if the calibration in ProTools from the AAX plugin is the same as the stand alone.  Please don't post any convoluted workarounds.  This plugin should work without any workarounds on our part.  I wish I had not upgraded to this version because the previous one worked fine.  When should us SoundID users expect these bugs to be fixed in a new update?

Hi all,

We have released a new SoundID Reference update (v5.9.1.3) today, Jan 24, 2024, which includes a fix for the SoundID Reference missing from sound output settings on macOS issue. With this update, the SoundID Reference audio device should be available in Mac Sound settings and Audio MIDI when the SoundID Reference app is running. For those encountering this issue with the previous versions, we recommend updating to the latest version.

To install this update, download the SoundID Reference installer from our download center here and proceed with the installation.

If there is an issue remaining after installing the update, please check the tips mentioned here: [MAC] No sound / no calibration effect

Thank you for your patience while we were working on resolving this issue. Let us know how it is working for you!

Hi mike, thanks for your post!

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues after the latest 5.7.3.17 update. Our team is already looking into the missing driver issue. Update: issue is resolved since the 5.9.1 update of SoundID Reference.

However, as for the issue you mentioned with the plugin in Pro Tools - I believe we have not seen this reported yet! I will also open a support ticket on your behalf, so we can gather some additional information on this issue and report it further to our team.

At the moment, we don't have a specific ETA on a hotfix update, but we'll make sure to follow up on the related community posts (including this one) to let you know of an update.

I'm experiencing the driver gone missing after my Mac goes to sleep mode. It shows up again after a system reboot. Not ideal though.

I posted some comments before explaining my issues and these are all the same as y'all experienced. And yes, laszloturbok, you're right. After sleep mode, it's dead mode for the driver, so a restart of the machine is necessary to make the driver great again.

I have one more issue: Besides my usual output, I always had my AirPods Pro 2s connected via BT and in SoundID Ref I had to add a new output. This always worked fine. Since the new update, the core driver simply crashes every time I connect the AirPods Pro 2s. Then I also have to restart the machine. Unfortunately I had to delete the output for the AirPods Pro 2s. It won't work anymore.

My words! This update really is a mess. Hope that the Sonarworks guys will fix these issues soon!

It’s been about a week since I updated to the latest version on my mac. I can’t even get it to launch at all. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling current, beta and even legacy versions as suggested and followed the exact steps. I found when I install the older versions now the output is missing. I receive no audio through sound id, the meters show that there is a signal, but you can’t hear anything. My Motu M2 audio interface works perfectly fine and I’m using the calibrated Sennheiser HD650 headphones. I just replaced those ear pads too. I haven’t been able to work on my client’s projects at all this week. Please fix these bugs and dish out a proper update! Every time I try to launch the new version, it just says not responding and then I have a hard time force quitting. Sometimes if I just wait a really long time, the gui will load but no audio despite the meters saying otherwise. I would like to get back to work so please fix this. I have changed my whole mixing and mastering setup to strictly pro tools, an audio interface, and a great set of headphones for more portability, mixing and mastering for clients on the go. I’m starting to see why calibration software is a mistake. Sounds great. Unreliable for a working engineer. I can’t use the latest or any of the older versions. Please fix this so I can continue to work for my rightfully impatient clients.

The 5.7.3.17 is an absolute crap show.  Audio keeps cutting in and out in systemwide mode many times locks up all together.  Constant force quits to get it to work again to only have it cut in and out and stop working AGAIN!  AAX plugin in Pro Tools constantly defaults back to headroom enabled volume although this is turned off.  Pro Tools constantly tells me my CPU has run due to this plugin and stops my session.  I cannot go back to earlier versions because they, for whatever reason, will not load my calibration profiles.  I wish I never upgraded to this crap show because it causes more problems than it is worth.  I cannot believe a company would release an upgrade with this many bugs.  THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW!!!!!

Hello,

reporting similar issue with Pro Tools AAX plugin (multichannel) on Windows. (Pro Tools 2023.9, Win 11). Every time when I open session with the plugin - even though it is saying that safe headroom is disabled, it is applied until I change this setting and get it back. It is a serious problem as I rely on the speaker volume calibration and this completely messes with the mix level!
