Minimum system requirements

In this article, you will find an overview of our software releases, their component specifics, and the operating systems that are supported.

Starting from version 5.3, macOS 10.12, 10.13, and Windows 8/8.1 operating systems are no longer supported. If you are working on any of these systems, the latest product release and Multichannel support won't be available on your setup. Here are the new base requirements for the latest version:

  • PC: Windows 10 or later
  • MAC: macOS 10.14 Mojave or later

SoundID Reference release version overview

The latest version of SoundID Reference software is always recommended to use, download here. However, there can be numerous reasons for using older versions too - for example, running SoundID Reference on macOS 10.12 and 10.13 is possible using an older version.

Versions 5.2 (or lower) are supported and available for the users who purchased those versions originally, however, all active development on them has stopped. Since we don't have the capacity to have several software versions in active development, new and emerging product issues will only be investigated on the latest versions. Previous software releases are available in the SoundID Reference online installer, in the Customize section - see below.

IMPORTANT! Launching a new trial on an older version of SoundID Reference is possible, but keep in mind that warranty policies are tied to the system requirements. Make sure to read the product description carefully before purchasing, to ensure your operating system is supported. A trial key for earlier versions needs to be provided by Support, so reach out to them to start your trial.

How to install 5.2 legacy version

If you're on a macOS 10.12 or 10.13 or Windows 8, version 5.2 will be installed by default (newer versions will not be available for these operating systems). However, if you're running a newer operating system with a newer version of SoundID Reference, you can also revert to 5.2 manually, if needed. Follow the steps here: How to install / revert back to 5.2 legacy version
